Stanstead College fields competitive rugby teams at the junior levels for boys and girls. The season is short but intense as athletes compete locally and in tournament play. In 2024, the Junior Girls Rugby Spartans were the ETIAC 7s regular season and playoff champions.

  • Athlete of the Week: Junyoung "Julia" Lee

    A standout second-year junior rugby player, Julia Lee is fierce on the pitch! She is an offensive force and relentless on defence. Her strong and technically sound tackles had fans gasping in awe at yesterday’s ETIAC games as she helped her team solidify wins against both Galt and BCS. Julia is wracking up points on the scoreboard and back to finish what she started last season. A quiet leader with tremendous skill and determination, congratulations Athlete of the Week, from junior girls rugby, Julia Lee.
  • Athlete of the Week: Emilie Labonté

    This Grade 8 student athlete from Orford, Quebec has had a fantastic start on the junior girls rugby team. She was a force on the pitch during last Friday's GMAA sevens tournament-- initiating plays, making strong tackles and earning her team points through tries and conversions. Emilie has been putting in extra time on the field since day one of the season, doing her best to learn the ins and outs of the game. Her calm and confident approach in the face of strong competition will be an asset to her team as the season unfolds. This week’s athlete of the week, from junior girls rugby, Emilie Labonté.
